Objectivos

This course is designed to make students aware of both the British and American cultural heritage, from its origins to the present day. It covers a wide range of key aspects of British an American cultural history, philosophic thought, political institutions, religion, economy, aesthetic trends, and cultural diversity, with a special focus upon turning-point/landmark periods, movements, events, and trends. Lectures and class meetings (in English) shall comprise extensive and intensive analysis/drilling of the programme topics, complemented by reading and study of the compulsory bibliography, handouts, and key texts. Students will be required to do research work and submit it in written and/or oral form, namely in power point presentations.
